MY FUNNY VALENTINE

Description

The song “My Funny Valentine” was composed by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart for their 1937 musical Babes in Arms, where it was introduced by former child star Mitzi Green. It became a popular jazz standard, appearing on more than 1,300 albums and performed by more than 600 artists. First recorded by Chet Baker in 1952, it quickly became his signature tune, omnipresent in his concerts and club sets. This LP opens with one of Chet’s many versions, and also features a selection of his best interpretations of famous standards."It seems to me that most people are impressed with just three things: how fast you can play, how high you can play, and how loud you can play."
