Description

Embracing the delta blues with its raw and stripped-down character, it builds a bridge between the music of Skip James and the indie rock of The Kills. The duo offers music without frills, with vintage accents but never outdated, focusing on songwriting, the emotion of the voice, and the mojo of the guitarist. This strong universe is fully conveyed by their cleverly offbeat visuals: sideburns, suspenders, doll dresses, and high heels. There are two of them but they play like four: bass, explosive drums, harmonica, washboard... and especially the blazing guitars of Damien and the powerful voice of Amandine. The songs address human relationships and the ambivalence of feelings, inhabited by a voice that is sometimes soft and melancholic, sometimes passionate and feverish. In just two years of existence, Catfish is experiencing a beautiful rise (Eurockéennes discovery, Génériq discoveries, Inouïs du Printemps de Bourges, Bar en Trans).
