"After 6 albums acclaimed by both the public and critics, Carmen Souza and Théo Pascal release Epistola, an album composed of eight original tracks and three covers, "Moonlight Serenade" by Glenn Miller, "Cape Verdean Blues" by Horace Silver for which Carmen wrote lyrics, and "Mira Me Miguel", a traditional song from the North East of Portugal. For this new album, Carmen Souza wanted to be presented with Théo Pascal who was the first to discover and believe in her talent and who has always been behind her as a mentor, composer, producer... composing half of the music released under the name "Carmen Souza". Epistola is an album recorded between London, Lisbon, and New York and "a special letter, sounds addressed to anyone who is open to receive them". Influenced among others by Fela Kuti and Ornette Coleman, while keeping in mind the importance of creating their own voice, their own identity which they call "organic jazz".
