Carmen Souza and Theo Pascal reworked six songs by the great pianist, adding some new Creole lyrics. A pioneer of hard bop, Horace Silver has been a major influence in Carmen Souza's career and musical journey. "Honoring the music and the composer, the taste, the innovation and shining a light on his work so that his music continues to touch others who have never been in contact with it... it is with this vision that we recorded these songs." The Silver Messengers is Carmen Souza's 9th album and marks the 5th anniversary of Horace Silver's passing.
