BUSH TETRAS was formed in 1979 out of New York’s post-punk / art funk / dance scenes. The band’s first release, TOO MANY CREEPS on the legendary 99 Records, is one of those defining moments, perfectly capturing the atmosphere of that very special moment in New York. In the spring of ’81, Topper Headon produced their album Rituals for Stiff Records. In 1983, the members of BUSH TETRAS went their separate ways and the band remained relatively quiet and elusive for several decades. The original members, Cynthia Sley, Dee Pop and Pat Place, now joined by Val Opielski, took over bass duties for the late Laura Kennedy. 2018 saw the release of the song Take The Fall on Wharf Cat. Recording the band’s new music after more than 10 years and announcing the return of BUSH TETRAS was fast, punk and magical. The influence of BUSH TETRAS on today’s rock music cannot be overstated.
