Produced by Christopher Johansson, who enhanced and gave a sonic backdrop to the Swede's compositions, this second solo album follows the eponymous album which stirred passions with its quality and rarity: 100 copies released by The Greatest Records and a selection among the gems of Radio France's music library. Bror Gunnar Jansson's repertoire explores the rough and primitive blues of Charley Patton or Brother Claude Ely (his fiery cover of Ain't No Grave). But the man also tugs at heartstrings with beautiful laments and cinematic ballads worthy of Tom Waits. A multi-instrumentalist (banjo, drums, saxophone, keyboard), Bror ("Brother" in Swedish) Gunnar Jansson possesses, in addition to his Deep Blues references, a distinctive personality, a soulful voice, and a poignant intensity.
