The canon of rock has a lot of anti-heroes. BLACK MOUNTAIN is the latest. In the past, Can’s album Tago Mago proved that the only rule of Rock’N Roll is that there are none, precisely. Pink Floyd in the 70s showed us that architecture could be cool, while Black Sabbath demonstrated that you can do a lot with very little. Today, BLACK MOUNTAIN teaches us that we do not have to be afraid of the past in order to move courageously into the future, defining what it means to be a classic rock band in this millennium. The band announces the release of IV, a new ambitious album with musicians at the top of their game. Stephen McBean, Jeremy Schmidt, AmberWebber, and JoshuaWells are joined in the studio by the renowned bassist and riff veteran Arjan Miranda (S.T.R.E.E.T.S, Children, and The Family Band), who shares the band’s vision. The recording was done in collaboration with producer Randall Dunn (Sunn O))), Wolves In The Throne Room, Marissa Nadler) at the famous Avast! studio in Seattle.
