SIX YEARS AFTER THEIR LAST ALBUM, THE CULT VANCOUVER BAND, AT THE HEIGHT OF THEIR ART, RETURNS WITH A RESOLUTELY AMBITIOUS RECORD. The rock canon has many anti-heroes. BLACK MOUNTAIN is the latest. In the past, Can's album Tago Mago proved that the only rule of Rock'N Roll is that there isn't one. Pink Floyd of the 70s showed us that architecture could be cool while Black Sabbath demonstrated that you can do a lot with very little. Today, BLACK MOUNTAIN teaches us that we don't have to be afraid of the past to move bravely into the future, defining what it means to be a classic rock band in this millennium. The band announces the release of IV, an ambitious new album featuring musicians at the peak of their careers. Stephen McBean, Jeremy Schmidt, Amber Webber, and Joshua Wells are joined in the studio by acclaimed bassist and riff veteran, Arjan Miranda (S.T.R.E.E.T.S, Children, and The Family Band) who shares the band's vision. The recording was made in collaboration with producer Randall Dunn (Sunn O))), Wolves In The Throne Room, Marissa Nadler) at the famous Avast! studio in Seattle.
