After reissuing last year in two beautiful box sets the last solo albums of guitarist Bert Jansch (1943-2011) and restoring the wonderful Avocet (1978), the label Earth Record is now focusing on his early solo albums from the sixties and seventies, with two announced box sets. Titled A Man I’d Rather Be (Part 1) and (Part II), the first box set includes the albums Bert Jansch (1965), It Don’t Bother Me (1965), Jack Orion (1966), and Bert And John (1966), along with a booklet featuring notes written by the legendary producer Bill Leader. The second, which will be released on February 23, includes the albums Nicola (1967), Birthday Blues (1969), Rosemary Lane (1971), and Moonshine (1973), this time with notes from Dave Henderson, a contributor to Mojo magazine.
