Wide Open Light is a collection of songs written by Ben Harper. They have been selected with the care one might give to a personal photo album. In a way, it is a sonic family album, with each track being a close relative of the next. The story of this record is simple. Ben has been writing songs for over 30 years now. It’s what he loves to do, and he hopes to continue doing it until the ink runs dry and the notes fade away. Deliberately minimalist, the writing is as important as the production on this record. The album was produced by Ben Harper along with his longtime collaborators Danny Kalb and Jason Mozersky. The record includes contributions from Jack Johnson (guitar, vocals), Shelby Lynne (vocals), and Piers Faccini (vocals).
