Bomboloni. It's an Italian word that means donuts. Among Tunisians, these round and golden delights (pronounced with the accent: bambalouni) have become a symbol, a cultural emblem. No celebration exists without them. They represent family, tradition, sunshine, refuge, joy... And the scent of this Tunisia that flows in the veins of Aurélie Saada and that she knows only through the memories of her parents, her grandparents, and all her ancestors. To write and compose this album, Aurélie went digging into her memories, always with the desire to create music evoking sweetness, languor, and indulgence. An intimate journey, to reconnect with her history and her family. With her friend Marlon B as a collaborator in production, and a small studio perched on the second floor of a building in Ménilmontant as her refuge, Aurélie crafted this album entirely live. Each of the tracks was recorded simultaneously and in the same space with all her musicians. This approach was driven by the desire to seek depth and sharing, and to tell that in the fragile, the true, and the organic, there is something precious. Bomboloni contains 11 tracks filled with sunshine and character, where sometimes hard truths and shared wounds slip in with open hearts. It's an orchestral record, enhanced by strings, timpani, and brass. But it is also and above all an album of generous and sensitive songs, the kind that already made the group Brigitte famous, created in 2007 with Sylvie Hoarau. Together, the two artists released six albums, received two double platinum records ('Et vous, tu m'aimes ?, 2011', 'A bouche que veux-tu ?', 2014) and one platinum record (Nues, 2017), before their paths separated in 2021. That same year, Aurélie signed her first film as a director, Rose, a drama about self-reclamation for which she wrote and composed the soundtrack. Now, it is under her own name that she continues her journey. And that she shares what matters most: the living and the true.
