In nearly 25 years of career, the multi-instrumentalist Andrew Bird has always maintained great musical ambitions, while refining his art through a fascinating discography oscillating between folk, art-pop, and independent rock. One year after releasing 'Inside Problems' in 2022, Andrew Bird offers 'Outside Problems', its precursor, entirely instrumental.
In the vein of his conceptual series Echolocations, this new album was mainly recorded outdoors, amidst the mountains and orange groves of Ojai, California. Its nine tracks capture the heart of everyday life with improvisations and melodic explorations that sketch, in places, the outlines of 'Inside Problems', but also the new chapter of a career as prolific as it is unpredictable.
