Recorded either in a church or on his farm in the Midwest, Hands Of Glory illustrates the almost mystical inspiration the American composer experienced during the hot days of last summer. It all started with a recording on a day off during his tour and it came together in less than a month. Hands Of Glory features 4 new tracks as well as 4 covers (The Handsome Family, Townes Van Zandt, Alpha Consumer, and a traditional piece). Neither a new album in the strict sense nor a covers album, Hands Of Glory captures the Andrew Bird of the Bowl Of Fire era, the grace of Weather System, and the pop evolution that followed The Mysterious Production Of Eggs, reaching its peak with Break It Yourself this year.
