Halo

Description

Rock and metal have always been for those whose stories are more epic, whose emotions are more powerful. For more than 30 years, Finnish pioneers AMORPHIS have carved out their own niche between music that is sincere yet aggressive, melancholic yet comforting. With “Halo,” their magnificent 14th studio album, the Finns underline their groundbreaking status as one of the most original, culturally relevant, and best bands ever to emerge from the land of a thousand lakes. The myths and legends of the past are today’s pop culture: stories and a system of values that unite us, give us a voice, and a map on which to find and situate ourselves. Weaving the stories of the Finnish national epic “Kalevala” into their songs and interpreting the messages in a timeless and modern way, AMORPHIS combines the roles of minstrel with the polymath of the present and honors tradition without getting stuck in the past.
