The journey of Amadou & Mariam has always been a matter of love at first sight. The mutual affection between Because Music and the duo led to the first record released by the label in November 2004, "Dimanche à Bamako," which won the hearts of the French. The passion continues: Amadou & Mariam are back with their new album "La Confusion," where their musical universe unfolds: afro beat - disco - groove - funk. The sense of rhythm guides a very rich album, alternating songs in Bambara and French, jubilant while remaining deep: some well-meaning warnings remain contemporary in 2017, such as exile and the place of women in society. With "La Confusion," largely realized by Adrien Durand (Bon Voyage Organisation) and mixed by Jimmy Douglas (The Weeknd, Björk, The Internet), the Malian duo contributes to giving new letters of nobility to African music by confronting it with modern pop. "BOFOU SAFOU," their first single, had already opened the doors to radio and TV shows in May and June: for their album, very good media coverage is already secured.
