De Baschung à Bashung 1966-1975

Description

Before the career we know him for, Alain Bashung recorded 48 tracks between 1966 and 1975. Whether under his own name or under pseudonyms (Monkey Business, Rock Band Revival with Dick Rivers, David Bergen), from the most classic French variety to 70s English rock, Bashung explored every avenue. It was to be a decade of false starts and forced odd jobs, on the eve of his first successes. Gathered together for the first time, the tracks on this collection form the little-known epilogue to the great story of Alain Bashung’s career. Many tracks are being reissued for the first time since their original vinyl release at the time. “When an artist disappears, the perception of his work changes radically,” analyzes Chloé Mons, Bashung’s last wife. “All at once, everything becomes interesting because it is about understanding a journey. This chapter tells how to build oneself as an artist before growing and maturing.”
