Before having the career we know him for, Alain Bashung recorded 48 tracks between 1966 and 1975. Whether under his own name or under pseudonyms (Monkey Business, Rock Band Revival with Dick Rivers, David Bergen), from the most classic French variety to 70s English rock, Bashung explored every avenue. It was a decade of false starts and forced miscasting, on the eve of his first successes. Gathered together for the first time, the tracks in this collection form the little-known epilogue of the great saga of Alain Bashung's career. Many tracks are reissued for the first time since their original vinyl release. "When an artist disappears, the perception of their work changes radically," analyzes Chloé Mons, Bashung's last wife. "Suddenly, everything becomes interesting because it's about understanding a journey. This chapter tells the story of how to build yourself as an artist before growing and maturing."
