For True North, a-ha decided to take a new approach. The brand new songs since Cast In Steel from 2015 are more than just an album - and unique for a-ha. If True North is a new album, it is also a film capturing a-ha recording the songs during November 2021 in Bodø, the Norwegian city located 90 km above the Arctic Circle. "With each album, we rework it to see if there is a different way to proceed," explains Paul. With what is both their 11th studio album and a very immediate document of its creation, a-ha has entered a new world. "First, we had the idea of recording a live studio session," explains Paul. "Then, to film a studio session. This turned into a production with the Norwegian orchestra, the Arctic Philharmonic, with whom we collaborated.
