A true avant-garde band, A CERTAIN RATIO introduces jazz, electro, and pop elements to the post-punk aesthetic that exploded in the late 1970s. While revolutionizing the way they acted and dressed on stage, they quickly crafted a strong and unique identity and invented what is now known as "punk funk." Their legacy is still very much present in current bands like LCD Soundsystem, Talking Heads, Franz Ferdinand, and Andrew Weatherall. Force is their fifth album, originally released on the Factory Records label in 1986.
