The classic and highly sought-after live album by A Certain Ratio finally receives an official release with new artwork. ACR continues its reissue campaign with Live in America, an essential artifact of the band's career, capturing their summer 1985 tour in the United States opening for their label mates New Order — both signed to Factory Records at the time, now united under the Mute banner — across the East Coast and Canada. Originally released on cassette and sold at concerts, this rare gem is now available on CD and vinyl, featuring new artwork and previously unpublished liner notes. Compiled from the best performances of the tour, Live in America spans the band's early years up to "Si Firmir O Grido" — a track released a year later on the album Force — capturing ACR at a pivotal and exhilarating moment in their journey. The recordings come from five venues where the band performed: Felt Forum (New York), Opera House (Boston), Agora Theatre (Akron, Ohio), Bismark Theatre (Chicago), and Warner Theatre (Washington D.C.). The lineup on the tour — and thus on the album — consisted of Andrew Connell (keyboards), Donald Johnson (drums), Jez Kerr (bass and vocals), Martin Moscrop (guitar and trumpet), and Anthony Quigley (saxophone).
