Recently reformed, LES I, a hexagonal rock quintet close to the "InOpposition" movement, recorded their 3rd album in 1984 (AYAA). Driven by syncopated rhythms, the bursts of voice and whispers of an actor/performer, and the sharp harmonies of the guitar/sax duo, they benefited from production tailored to their needs (FERDINAND RICHARD d'ETRONFOU LELOUBLAN at the controls). "Oubien" will appeal to fans of ORNETTE COLEMAN, DEFUNKT, or CAPTAIN BEEFHEART, for whom they opened in the early 80s. As well as those of ALBERT MARCOEUR, DÉBILEMENTHOL (the Swiss violinist MARIE SCHWAB participated in two tracks), or ETRON FOU.
