ARTE SUMMER OF PEACE is the official compilation of ARTE's cult summer programming.
After the phenomenal success two years ago of "Summer of Soul," ARTE will present this year its "Summer of Peace" from July 18, 2015, to August 23.
This programming will be built around 12 evenings featuring iconic films (GOOD MORNING VIETNAM, HAIR, THE LAW OF THE LORD, CRY FREEDOM, APOCALYPSE NOW), musical documentaries, as well as concerts by legends like BOB MARLEY, JOHN LENNON, and THE DOORS.
This box set will focus on the 60s/70s, which saw the emergence of major protest movements in music. Whether in pop, soul, or folk, many voices rose in favor of peace in a context of extremely strong cultural liberation, with the ultimate testimony being the Woodstock festival (1968). Through this 3 CD collector's box set, the true soundtrack of the program, we will find all the artists who marked the 60s/70s with their commitment to peace.
