The history of recorded opera begins with Enrico Caruso's legendary Victor 78s, cut as early as 1904, which laid the foundation for an entire industry. In the 1950s and 1960s, the arrival of the stereo microgroove LP opened a new chapter: major record labels invested heavily in capturing the greatest voices under unparalleled studio conditions.
