This album was produced by Peter Gabriel and mixed by Tchad Blake and Stephen Hague.
UP appears as a very personal statement, with recurring themes of birth and death. Mostly recorded at Real World studios, hours of recording have been condensed into 10 songs. This album features contributions from Peter Green, Danny Thompson, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Daniel Lanois, the Black Dyke Band, Peter Mealnie's daughter, and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
