Zwei! is a raw, synthetic post-punk duo formed by:
- Boris Guffer, member of the cult Rennes band Complot Bronswick, responsible for six albums, including the notable *Maïakovski* in 1984
- Philip Ross, singer of C.O.M.A (Clinik Organik Muzak Anatomik), a cross between The Residents and Devo, this "novo" quartet, whose existence was too brief, left a lasting impression in its time.
Guests such as Patrick Blain (Charles de Goal), François Possémé (Complot), and Philippe Huart (ex-guitarist/keyboardist of C.O.M.A., now a painter/graphic artist) enrich the tracks with their guitars.
In the shadow of sonic influences like Kraftwerk, Wire, Magazine, Depeche Mode, and many others, Zwei! also draws inspiration from cinematic imagery. The "societal" sung/spoken lyrics, sometimes committed, sometimes detached, play with a certain detachment tinged with humor.
