Can’t Cheat Karma

The second release from Sealed Records is a compilation of 14 tracks bringing together the five singles from Zounds. The first single, Can't Cheat Karma (1980), was released on Crass Records and, 39 years later, remains one of the greatest singles, both politically and musically.
The next three singles as well as their first album, The Curse of Zounds, were released on Rough Trade Records. Among them, Demystification (1981) stands out as a tense and austere work, while Dancing, produced by Mikey Dread, exudes an enchanting atmosphere.
Next, More Trouble Coming Everyday takes a more directly pop approach. The band's last single, La Vache Qui Rit, was released in 1983 on the Belgian label Not So Brave. Originally, it was supposed to be a split with The Mob, but it ultimately turned into a combination of two raw studio tracks and two live recordings, captured in the Netherlands in 1982.
These essential recordings from Zounds deserve a place in every music collection.
