"In transit", the title of the second album by the Dutch singjay is indeed appropriate to illustrate his transition to the international scene. Favorable treatment or welcome opportunity, Ziggi, supported by the label Rock n' Vibes Entertainment, is one of the few non-Jamaican artists, European moreover, to benefit from a Greensleeves distribution. A clear step has therefore been taken. Supported by a few singles (Cry murdah, presented in two versions, with the participation of Admiral T, Fight this struggle for Al.Ta.Fa.An, Need to tell you this on the I love riddim by Rootdown, which recalls the Hard times by Gibbo or Gonna leave you freely inspired by Sizzla), the final result is very homogeneous (too much one might say...), driven by quality production and good choruses with the quavering voice, a trademark of the Marleys, pushed to the extreme on Fight this struggle and a hint of Junior Kelly on the deejay phases. The very German sound, clean but soft, contributes a lot like this Unconditional at Supersonic or the duo with Gentleman on A better way, typical of the genre. The tracklist, however, remains varied: sexy dancehall with Cecile, ganja tune with Anthony B, almost autotuned ballad for Don't get down, more carnival vibe for Burning redda.
