Description

Zar Electrik is a trio from Marseille, activists on the Mediterranean scene. The mesmerizing voice with Maghreb influences of Anass Zine, accompanied by his traditional instruments such as the oud and the gumbri, blends subtly with the deep voice of Arthur Péneau. He brings in his hybrid African influences through his kora, which he mystifies with electric effects. Composer and producer Did Miosine comes to elevate it all. He brings his knowledge and mastery of machines, synths, and the codes of electronic music. The result is explosive. Together, the three of them create rich and generous music, a journey between the Maghreb, sub-Saharan Africa, and the West.
