The latest solo album by Zac Lawrence, leader of DEADLETTER, highlights the composer’s love for the contemporary folk scene of the 60s. Although it is not a conventional “folk” sound, the songs, driven by acoustic guitar, blend the singer’s passion for lyricism and literature with touching melodies and arrangements. The first single from this project brings together a new group made up of Misty Miller on vocals, Blossom Caldarone (English Teacher) on cello, and Nathan Pigott (also a member of DEADLETTER) on clarinet. At the opposite end of what we know of him as the leader of DEADLETTER, relaxed fingerpicked tracks that will transport you as much to the most sinister hotel in Hamburg as to his imagination as a fifty-something reflecting on a life he did not live as planned.
