To trace this half-century of writing and music in a box set is more than a journey; it is a new voyage. To provide a setting for these two hundred songs, it was necessary to find coherence, to give a faithful reflection of their path, to show how songs are born, "from those little things that for me make a whole…", two lines that emerged from a rebellion, a phrase stolen from the gentle breeze of a conversation, or the precious moment of an exchanged glance…. Life is a constant source of inspiration that poetry envelops in beauty to make it more bearable. Nothing is unspeakable in song. Suffering, despair, violence, and sweetness walk together. In the same album, love, regret, nostalgia, and hope coexist harmoniously. Our years follow one another, leaving in their wake the trace of their sadness or the joy that illuminates them. Yves Duteil, singer-songwriter of the francophone song heritage, marks 50 years of career. With his love for words and music, he offers us a journey in song at the heart of the French language! His first single "Virages" was released in 1972, but it was in 1974 that his career took off following the public and best song awards won at the international festival of French song in Belgium and the release of his first studio album "L’écritoire." Throughout his career, Yves Duteil has been awarded numerous times: the Jeune Chanson prize from the High Committee of the French Language, the Charles Cros Academy, the Culture Secretariat prize... Upon the release of the album "Statut d’histoire," he received the insignia of Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres. In 1985, "La langue de chez nous" won the silver medal from the French Academy and the grand prize for best French song from SACEM. In 1988, "Prendre un enfant" was voted best French song of the 20th century. He wrote "La fleur de l’impossible," the song for the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics. In 1997, he again received the grand prize from SACEM for the album "Touché." In 2018, he received the grand prize from the Society of French Poets.
