Ten years after Vaccine, Younger Brother finally releases a new full-length album with Mutually Assured Distraction, published in 2026, diverting the doctrine of "mutually assured destruction" to question an era dominated by digital overload and attention dispersion. Simon Posford and Benji Vaughan combine synthesizers, acoustic instruments, and the voices of Mirabelle Rose and Jay Marsh, joined by cellist Rena Jones, in a balance where electronics constantly interact with organic interpretations. The nine compositions create a continuous journey, from "I Belong To Nowhere" to "Endless Drift," designed as a passage through emotional states rather than a simple succession of tracks. Mixed by Simon Posford at Hallucinogen Sound Labs and mastered by Matt Colton at Metropolis, the album marks the discographic return of a major project in the British psychedelic electronic scene.
