Last year, the three Scottish MCs of Young Fathers were awarded a Mercury Prize for their debut album Dead, and are already back with the album White Men Are Black Men Too. The Scottish trio returns with a new album, with much more pop inspirations. A few months ago, YOUNG FATHERS won the prestigious Mercury Prize 2014. They didn't rest on their laurels. White Men Are Black Men Too is a resolutely pop album in its melodies and committed in its lyrics, just like its title. Their first track, "Rain Or Shine" and its sparkling organs, mixes pop reminiscent of Metronomy with gospel chants, hip-hop and psychedelic rock tunes. To record it, the band spared no expense on travel. They visited multiple destinations, including a rehearsal room in Melbourne, London, but also a basement in Berlin and basements in Edinburgh.
