In this new wave, you will find albums by YES, John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers, Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, The Moody Blues, Paco de Lucia & John McLaughlin, Duran Duran, and Heart.'The Ladder' is the eighteenth studio album by Yes, released on September 20, 1999. It is the first of two albums by the group with six musicians (the other being the live 'House of Yes'). It charted at number 36 on the UK Albums Chart and number 99 on the Billboard 200. On this album, Billy Sherwood sets aside the keyboards to focus on guitar, as Russian keyboardist Igor Khoroshev has officially joined the group, now a full member of Yes. Canadian multi-instrumentalist Randy Raine-Reusch, who has played with Aerosmith (Pump, 1989) and the Cranberries (To the Faithful Departed, 1996), also participates in the album's recording. Steve Howe plays the koto on the track It Will Be a Good Day (The River), during the introduction, around the middle, and at the very end of the song.
