Infinity

Description

An introduction in the form of continental drift ("Infinity"), an atypical production, new for the Breton, moving and attractive, a sound like rusted by the rain, eroded by the ages. Violins that tremble under the downpour when they do not provoke the usual emotional storms. Guitars whose magma is often still just a distant murmur, synthesizers and a glacial filigree of electronics (Steinn, the twisted melancholy of the impressive "In Our Minds"). Toy songs with uncertain colors (the indecisive pop of "Midsummer Evening") or unreal lights (the aptly named "Lights" and its delightful big bang). Breton ("Ar Maen Bihan" and the disturbing growth of its muffled violence), Faroese, Icelandic. And the magnificent Scottish voice of Aidan John Moffat (ex-Arab Strap) on the conclusion, tear-jerking, "Meteorite": sequel to "Skyline" released in 2011, recorded between the extreme north (Iceland) and the stormy west (Ouessant), "Infinity" is a beautiful, spectral, variable, paradoxical album due to the vastness hidden by its false modesty.
