Mute (label of Depeche Mode, Liars, Nick Cave.) is pleased to announce the signing of Yann Tiersen and the release of his long-awaited new album "Dust Lane," scheduled for October 5, 2010. Originally from Brittany, Yann Tiersen is one of the most esteemed artists of his generation, with a reputation first established through his studio albums (notably "Le Phare" in 1998 and "Les Retrouvailles" in 2005 (his last album, 80,000 sales in France)) and then confirmed by his work on the soundtrack of "Amélie" (2001) (nearly a million sales in France), which earned him widespread recognition. Produced by Yann Tiersen and mixed by Ken Thomas (Sigur Rós, M83, Moby), "Dust Lane" marks the incorporation of vintage electronic sounds and textures into Yann Tiersen's music. He describes this new album as "A journey on the dusty road that leads to death. Not something sad, rather a colorful experience, sometimes painful but above all joyful: Life!"
