This recording, Hommage à la Poésie Bretonne, marks forty-five years of a rich and intense career of research, encounters, and diverse creations. It first took shape through what we commonly call “popular poetry,” passed down orally, worn and polished by time, chewed over and murmured by the lips of peasants, workers, pilgrims, or beggars. Then came the time of writers casting a gaze on their own era, thus offering horizons of possibilities, lyrical, sarcastic, even mystical. Not a nostalgic gaze, but one filled and enriched by the memory of those dear faces, those voices, the rhythms and paradigms offered by their words and their music.
