Between post-kraut, mutant folklore, and electronic trance. After a first album that garnered attention in 2023 and a busy tour, Yalla Miku returns with "2", a new opus that confirms their uniqueness on the current scene. Still rooted in Geneva but with a renewed line-up, the band refines its approach and pushes further its vision of a borderless, radically alive music. Between post-kraut, mutant folklore, and electronic trance, Yalla Miku continues to make the traditions of the Horn of Africa converse with the freest experiments of the Geneva underground. The riffs of the krar by Samuel Ades Tesfagergsh, the sculptural bass of Louise Knobil, the nervous percussion of Cyril Bondi, the machines of Emma Souharce, and the modified banjo of Cyril Yeterian weave a dense, collective sound material, full of breaks and pulsations. Here, no smooth fusion or frozen folklore: "2" is an interplanetary journey where multiple voices overlap, clash, or complement each other. A music of otherness, built like a common space where each timbre retains its roughness.
