Alternative rock in sharp Dutch with an Anglo-Saxon touch. In "Broer" (Brother), Thijssen picks up the pieces of his youth. The grief has been digested. The house on the fateful railway line has been sold. All the memories have been sorted. The music reveals that it’s over. For those who listen closely, Wouter Thijssen offers comfort with a hammer blow. The riffs are furious, the percussion relentless, and the guitars take over everything. But the melodies for Wille remain dreadful, always punctuated by this desperate wish: "If only I could come back with you." De Standaard Echoes of 80s and 90s alternative rock and a distinctive voice characterized Wouter Thijssen's debut album, released in late 2019. For his next album, Broer, Thijssen surrounded himself with regular members of the band Michel Becx (drums, CMON CMON, The 40 Watt Band) and Sean Willekens (bass, The Love, Wixcakes). This second album features incisive songs and powerful guitar work. This new work, populated by anarchists, punks, and other young delinquents, deals with a turbulent past and will be released in spring 2026 on the new label Thorn in my side recordings. The single "Wille" has already received several airings on radio Willy (Meurissey).
