La Lautten Compagney presents once again a unique baroque program built on the use of gender changes in roles of baroque operas. It was not uncommon to see on stage female roles sung by men, and vice versa. This album is a collaboration of the Lautten Compagney and mezzo-soprano Vivica Genaux and countertenor Lawrence Zazzo, both familiar with these gender changes, and contains arias, duets, and instrumental works taken from operas by Handel, Hasse, Vivaldi, Porpora, Galuppi, and many others.
