The new album TIME TRAVEL by the Lautten Compagney and its director Wolfgang Katschner offers a surprising concept: a selection of hits from the legendary Beatles meets the music of the most famous English baroque composer Henry Purcell. The arrangements, adapted to the special instrumentation of the Lautten Compagney, create an impressive sonic bridge between the 17th and 20th centuries. For this recording, the Lautten Compagney collaborated with the young saxophonist Asya Fateyeva. They recorded pieces such as "Yesterday," "Another Girl," "Because," "Tomorrow Never Knows," as well as "When I'm 64" by the Beatles and works from famous plays by Purcell such as "King Arthur," "The Fairy Queen," "Dido and Aeneas," "The Indian Queen," "Abdelazer," and "Bonduca." The arrangements for baroque ensemble, which are the work of composer and cellist Bo Wiget and the ensemble's director Wolfgang Katschner, are complemented by the solo saxophone, which reproduces the original vocal melody. Although no words are sung, the arrangements are undeniably poetic.
