Description

The sixteenth volume of the "Next Generation Mozart Soloists" series, the second to last in this collection dedicated to the young generation of performers - in collaboration with the Orpheum Foundation - and becoming iconic, features a unique and already well-recognized soloist: the French pianist Marie-Ange Nguci, who, under the direction of Howard Griffiths, records two major concertos by Mozart: the Piano Concerto in D minor No. 20, K. 466, the first piano concerto composed by Mozart in a minor key, dated February 10, 1785, and performed the very next day with great success by Mozart himself, on a pianoforte equipped with a pedalboard like an organ. Also on the program is the Piano Concerto in E-flat major No. 22, K. 482, composed at the end of that same year, 1785.
