A key figure in the Los Angeles DIY scene for over ten years, Samira Winter, under the moniker Winter, crafts eclectic, poetic, and immersive dream pop. With *Adult Romantix*, her first album on the Winspear label, she pens a farewell letter to LA, full of sunshine, melancholy, and romantic undertones. Inspired by Mary Shelley's gothic literature and 90s romantic comedies, the album captures the end of a cycle, oscillating between summer nostalgia and a desire for renewal. Composed during two years of transitions and travels, this record also marks Samira's move to New York in search of new inspiration. Across thirteen tracks, she blends hazy guitars, a voice veiled in melancholy, and valuable collaborations (Horse Jumper of Love, Tanukichan). Between the acoustic intimacy of Elliott Smith, Californian shoegaze-style saturation from the 2010s, and the impulses of Sonic Youth’s *Rather Ripped*, *Adult Romantix* navigates between romantic fervor and the dizzying sensation of change—a bittersweet album, both diaphanous and deeply visceral.
