WILL STRATTON releases his new album, Rosewood Almanac on Bella Union. This great-grandson of a traveling preacher began writing songs and recording in high school before studying philosophy and music composition. He developed an intimate relationship with the guitar after discovering Nick Drake and his "style, fluid, beautiful, and effortless." STRATTON's studies also led him to chamber music, and to the minimalists Steve Reich and Terry Riley, who influenced his own sound that is both complex and direct. His latest album, Gray Lodge Wisdom has received very positive feedback from the public. Simon Raymonde, the head of Bella Union, claims that Stratton is as exciting as Elliott Smith, Cass McCombs, or Justin Vernon.
