Through "The Purple Album", Whitesnake paid tribute to the band Deep Purple, in which Coverdale began 50 years ago. Also available in a 2CD+Blu-Ray edition with unreleased recordings and many bonus tracks. Among the unreleased tracks are the historic 4-track demo that secured him his place in the band in 1973 and alternate mixes of tracks from the 2015 album. The Blu-ray includes video recordings from the Purple tour ("The Gypsy", "Mistreated"), official music videos ("Sail Away", "You Fool No One"), a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the album, and Coverdale's track-by-track commentary.
