WEB WEB opens a new chapter with Kover Kover, their first album entirely dedicated to covers. The band reinvents tracks by Nirvana, Klaus Doldinger, Grace Jones, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, Talking Heads, Grandbrothers, Dave Pike, Empire of the Sun, Joe Jackson, Eurythmics, and Kruder & Dorfmeister. Guided by their stylistic curiosity, the musicians wondered what these songs would sound like if they had been written by WEB WEB; they just needed to pass them through their sonic universe. The idea: to transform beloved songs from very different backgrounds so that they naturally fit into their jazz language. And it works, because a good track always relies on two essential elements: a singable melody and an immediately recognizable harmonic structure.
