Waxx and C.Cole, respectively guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, have been creating a fusion of another musical genre that is their own for several years: their lithium is their love of rock and rap, two genres that have been crossing paths, drifting apart, and then reuniting for four decades. The two musicians have embodied this same spirit of fusion on record in Lithium, twelve tracks conceived as an extension of the show Fanzine. On various cadences and rhythms provided by C.Cole, infused with trap, Waxx paints a rock palette with his guitar for their guests. Metal distortions unleash the fury of Juiice, Youv Dee, and Slimka. Grunge inflections allow Sopico and RYMZ to deliver cathartic rap. Pop-rock melodies surround romantic moments for Georgio and A2H, moving for Moji Sboy and Tsew The Kid. Lithium is a mosaic, a Mendeleev table of emotions and fusion shades between rap and rock that Waxx, C.Cole, and their guests have managed to create.
