Waxx and C.Cole, respectively guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, have for several years been creating a fusion of another musical register that is uniquely theirs: their lithium is their love of rock and rap, two genres that for four decades have kept crossing paths, moving apart, then coming back together. The two musicians have brought this same spirit of fusion to record on Lithium, twelve tracks conceived as an extension of the Fanzine show. Over various cadences and rhythms provided by C.Cole, infused with trap, Waxx draws from his guitar a rock palette for their guests. Metal distortions unleash the fury of Juiice, Youv Dee and Slimka. Grunge inflections allow Sopico and RYMZ to deliver cathartic rap. Pop-rock melodies surround romantic moments for Georgio and A2H, moving ones for Moji Sboy and Tsew The Kid. Lithium is a mosaic, a Mendeleev-like tableau of emotions and fusion tones between rap and rock that Waxx, C.Cole and their guests have succeeded in creating.
