The recording sessions for The Waterboys' album "Fisherman's Blues" have been revisited for a brand new 3 CD and 3 vinyl box set, featuring unreleased recordings. Nearly 400 multitrack tapes, amounting to 150 hours of music, were recorded during the famous "Fisherman's Blues" sessions between 1986 and 1988. Among them, 80 tapes had no titles, only summary notes like "jam" or "unknown." In 2024, the band's leader, Mike Scott, listened back to most of these recordings, thus discovering dozens of forgotten tracks by the band: lost recordings, some improvised on the spot, others meticulously worked on, whose quality often equals that of the tracks on the original classic 1988 album. Scott compiled them into a triple CD and vinyl box set titled "THE LOST FISHERMAN'S BLUES RECORDINGS." This fascinating release will attract a lot of attention and will be accompanied by a booklet containing 15,000 words of liner notes written by Scott himself, as well as lyrics and unpublished photos.
