"We talked about the atmosphere of each track and vaguely indicated who would do solos, but it was mostly a lot of spontaneous takes, a lot of exchanged glances, a lot of knowing nods and winks," explains Andrew Marlin, who forms the group with multi-instrumentalist and singer Emily Frantz. As the duo's songwriter, Marlin hones his writing talent here, tackling universal themes like aging and the feeling of powerlessness in a world torn by injustice. Admittedly, the album has a typical sound, but it is anchored in the burning reality of our daily lives.
