Like all of Washer's releases, the songs on this album pound and warp. The structures are flipped for massive hooks and sharp left turns. Just when the band settles into a groove, they twist and convulse into the next, delivered by wonky riffs and off-kilter fills. Washer does not rely on abundant sound layers and overly complex textures; it’s the immediacy of what they do that makes it feel distinctive. The songs are incisive and aggressive, trembling and shouted, but anchored in constant choruses, tenacious remarks that are best experienced in the company of friends.
