To capture the energy, spirit, and dynamism of their concerts, W. H. Lung, made up of Joe Evans, Tom Sharkett, Chris Mulligan, Hannah Peace, and Alex Mercer-Main, settled in Sheffield to work with Ross Orton (MIA, Arctic Monkeys, Working Men's Club), who remarkably tapped into the band's live essence. "Ross is the Steve Albini of Sheffield," says Joe Evans. Tom Sharkett agrees: "He was exactly the producer we needed without us even realizing it. His productions and mixes are grandiose, vibrant, and in-your-face, and that's exactly what we wanted." However, while this album is rooted in a sparkling live capture feel, it doesn't mean it's a raw or unruly record. W.H. Lung moves from dance to pop to indie, all while maintaining that unique quality that is undeniably their own. "The big difference with this album is that it's direct in every sense of the word," says Sharkett.
