Description

Like Feu! Chatterton and Radio Elvis, emerging from the same generation, which bears the imprint of BabX and Bertrand Belin, Volin follows an innovative path whose present outcome offers us an album that is never static, one that wanders, floats, escapes and returns to itself. Between rock, electronic music and Folképurée, it draws us into a cottony calm, as if nestled in a cloud, where yet the intensity swells, rises and suddenly surges, which makes Cimes an entity that, without explicitly mentioning travel, or invoking it abusively, is nevertheless one in its entirety. The theme of time is the thread running through the record, the one that has gone on “Hier,” the one that will come through tracks like “Petit à Petit,” and that of the inertia of movement by road as on “Partir,” by sea on “Entre Deux Rives,” or by air on “L'Elan.” Other themes punctuate this dominant subject, and address social issues, past lives and invite us to simply take the time to live.
